About Me

Dr. Jennifer (Jen) Scarborough is an experienced social worker registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). As one of only six certified Family Based Treatment therapists in Canada, Jen's unique expertise brings a sense of reassurance and confidence to her practice. She holds a Ph.D. in Social Work, specializing in parental well-being amid child eating disorders.

With over a decade of diverse clinical experience, Jen has navigated various healthcare settings, from inpatient hospitals to community-based mental health facilities. This extensive experience instills a sense of confidence in her abilities and ensures that she can meet a wide range of needs. She also shares her knowledge as an adjunct professor at Wilfrid Laurier University's esteemed Social Work Program.

Currently, Jen leads and develops programs at a local hospital's outpatient eating disorder program. She oversees treatment, program evaluation, supervision, and training workshops.

Jen's proficiency spans multiple therapeutic modalities, including family-based therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, and dialectical behaviour therapy. She stays abreast of the latest developments in her field through regular attendance at workshops and training updates.

While specializing in eating disorders, Jen is well-versed in addressing associated comorbidities such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, and life challenges, offering comprehensive support to both individuals and families.
